Moving to Arkansas

When I was a kid my family took a vacation to Colorado. I couldn't believe how pretty it was there. I told my self, "One day I'm gonna live where it's pretty. Other people can do it, I will too! "
Career, family and friends conspired to hold me in Houston. Decades rolled by but I never lost that dream.

Now I've retired, lost my friends in a divorce (it's weird but it happens) and with my mom's passing last spring, I've lost my ties to the coastal flatland.

Colorado has proved to expensive for what I want and Arkansas called my name. Property is MUCH cheaper, winter is much milder and the roads are on par. Just found a place in North Central Ark.
It's near Mountain View and the White river flows thru the back yard. Every road in every direction is awesome.
The town is a tourist destination, so there are lots of restaurants and shops to poke around in. There is live music every Friday and Saturday night.

Anyway, just letting those few of you still around that know me, I'll be up there. Maybe come visit sometime.

I'm sorry for your losses, but I'm also happy for your decision to be adventurous and not let life's obstacles keep you from accomplishing dreams/goals you set for yourself. It'll be sad not to see you at any future SE meets, but if I'm ever in your neck of the woods, I'll give you a shout!
