TTL for a new bike in TX
So, I'm looking at buying a new (unregistered) bike from a dealer out of state. I 'think' the dealer will put some temporary tags on the bike when I buy it. But I'll just get the thing picked up and transported to me.
I'm wondering if anyone here has had experience getting a new sportsbike registered in TX? Pretty painless? Chance emissions and noise will make the process difficult? Also looks like I'll have to pay TTL + tax if I can pass any roadworth checks. The tax I can calculate (likely based on sale price?), but is there anywhere I can find the standard TTL fees for a bike in TX? |

I just bought a car from Kansas and the dealer worked everything out with me. They charged me $450 to ship it, and the tax is based on State tax + city tax... so it'll be 8.25%. If you are getting financial help, talk directly to your dealer and see if they can "roll" the additional charges you would need to pay out-of-pocket into the sale price and have them reimburse you those costs by mailed check/wire transfer after they receive the funds from your loan institute.

Actually, Google has helped here. This is pretty clear -- https://www.txdmv.gov/motorists/buyi...reign-vehicles I'm just not sure if the dealer provides the vehicle inspection report. Or if that is something else I need to sort in Tx. I'll do some more digging.

Petty simple; I bought my 2017 Africa Twin in Russellville, AR. All I had to do was get it inspected, take the paperwork from the dealer with the inspection report to the tax assessor, and pay the sales tax plus the registration fee. They gave me the plate with the year sticker. Done.

Dealer price should set tax basis, but just in case
