That's right. CA now has a Bill in which they will determine whether or not to completely legalize marijuana. Bill led by Tom Ammiano.

Should be interesting to see where this goes.

I thought that the big issue was that its not up to the states to legalize marijuana because the federal government is the one who has determined that it is illegal...
I don't know maybe i am way off...???...

Therein lies the problem. From what I understand, the US Government does not even acknowledge the fact that marijuana is legal for medicinal uses in CA and HAS arrested some people for using it.

6 plants are legal to grow in mendicino county. lots of places have decriminalized under 2 oz. not even a ticket in san fran.

A friend recently got pulled over in oakland while smoking the mentioned substance. The officer asked him what he had in the car to which he replied "just a little grass". He officer replied "o welcome to cali texas boy. We don't arrest people for that around here." .

He left with a bg smile on his face and has yet to return to austin tx.
