Don't Let Starbucks Push You Around

PP1 now has a lounge open to all riders. No purchase necessary. Park where you want. Stay as long as you want. and freely without guilt. Enjoy the comfy couches, a/c, and WiFi. Trespassing no longer exists so don't let the manager tell you otherwise.

I think itís common courtesy if you have to use a businessís bathroom that you should buy something. Even on road trips if I have to take a at a gas station I will either buy fuel, snack or a drink.

Common courtesy is no longer recognized. You may now take what you want.

Yes. Because most everyone loiters at Starbucks. I can't tell to how many times I've accompinaied the girl to some impromptu or scheduled business meeting at Starbucks and no one orders anything. But they use the bathroom multiple tables, wifi, etc. but because they are dressed in suits no one gives them . And there are plenty of others there doing it too. Someone MIGHT buy a plain coffee and sit there for hours in their computer.

The police thought they were trespassing and that's why they were arrrested.

Well instead of sensitivity training the CEO has called for, don't you think a sign would have taken away these tards leverage?

I've heard the 911 call. The Starbucks manager calmly states that two gentlemen refuse to leave the property or buy anything. If anyone gave them leverage it was social media and Starbucks corporate. The Philadelphia police commissioner (who is black) defended his officers.

I've never loitered at Starbuck's without buying anything but if they asked me if I was going to buy something I would take the hint and grab a coffee. Probably wouldn't tell them to go themselves and wait for the police to show up. If someone calls the police my SOP is to exit calmly before they arrive. Starbuck's called the police on my group when we were hanging out in front of it even after we ordered coffee. Who gives a . I get it. Some people are racist. The mexican ladies at my local subway have a attitude towards gringos and are all smiles if you speak spanish, but I don't care as long as that goes light on the mayo when I tell her to.

I think it's tacky to show up to an event without bringing something, a wedding gift to a wedding, a bottle of wine to a house-warming party, a birthday gift to a party, etc. I also think it's tacky to hang around a business, suck up their air, use their wifi, and take up space without buying something. What I think is tacky doesn't really matter, so if a business wants to adopt that policy they need to make it a policy. There are signs at other establishments that clearly state, " the bathroom is for paying customer's only" House of Pies even has a sign that clearly states you need to spend at least $5 to take up space here. You can no longer rely on people to act in a reasonable and respectful manner anymore!

I really think it's at the manager's discretion. There is a that hangs around the Starbucks I go to on West Gray and Shepard and nobody really chases him off. Most to time they give him a free cup of coffee and some water and he just kind of chills outside. I think he has enough tact and common sense to not take up space inside though.

Read the story.

Black, white, brown, suit, cut-offs, whatever..... it doesn't matter. You're a douche bag laid up in starbucks sucking up air, all over the floor, wiping your with their toilet paper, using up all the band with, burnin electricity charging your gay ipad and taking an available table while suckin up tap water on ice in a $.05 cup and not buying even a mint. I'd run your off too.
