President Trump, who promised to work for free, donated his salary for the first quarter of the year on Monday to the National Park Service, which, like other government agencies, faces major cuts in the president’s first budget proposal.

At the daily White House briefing, Sean Spicer, the president’s press secretary, presented a check signed by Mr. Trump for $78,333.32 to Ryan Zinke, the interior secretary, who oversees the park service. “I’m thrilled,” Mr. Zinke said.

Presidents are paid $400,000 a year, not counting benefits that come with the job, including housing in a fairly spacious residence. But Mr. Trump, perhaps the wealthiest person ever to hold the presidency, made a point during the campaign of saying he did not need taxpayers to compensate him. His daughter Ivanka Trump and son-in-law, Jared Kushner, who together are worth as much as $740 million, are working on his staff without taking salaries.

when you pay taxes you don't think you are donating money to a bunch lazy bums and illegal immigrants so they don't have to work? At least trumps money ain't going to the bottom feeders of america.

I never have figured how the govt spending more than it brings in will bring down the debt either. But they do it. I for one want to chose what charities I support instead of letting the govt give it to women that are irrespsponsible and have 5 kids and no job. Or some illegals that aren't entitled to a $1 of my money. If illegals (daca too) don't make it on their own send them back to the shithole countries that they came from. And let them beg off their country. LOSERS!!!

Do you have literally any clue what DACA is? In order to be eligible you have to be a young adult American with no criminal record who is employed, being educated, or in the military. In other words, exactly the type of person we want in this country. Most of these people were brought over when they were so young that they have no memories of their country of origin. Many of them don't even speak the native language and have never even been to that country. Why in the would we want to send these people who are contributing to the economy and actively want to be US citizens (and pay all of their share of taxes) "back" to somewhere they are not even remotely famaliar with. Even if you ignore the fact that you should have compassion for these people because of their tragic situation, sending them out of this country is pants-on-head retarded from an economic standpoint.

You grow the economy. More people work, more people pay taxes. More people get raises, more taxes are paid. People make more money, they buy more , the companies who make the make more money and pay more taxes.

You think the only way to increase revenue is to increase tax rates?

Jesus man. So simple.

You're the . Can't have a reasonable discussion about anything. Too frail in your convictions to entertain another point of view. If someone says something you disagree with, just attack them. Who needs to make sense of their argument when you can just talk

The Fuq is going on here?

“I'm starting with the man in the mirror
I'm asking him to change his ways
And no message could have been any clearer
If you want to make the world a better place
Take a look at yourself, and then make a change
(Na na na, na na na, na na, na nah)”

Ain't nobody mad. You don't have to be mad to understand that most folks nowadays are too fragile to entertain something that doesn't fit their side's political dogma. Gotta tow that line.

I don't spend a lot of my time scrutinizing protest pictures. I had never seen a bunch of women wear pink hats with ears before.
