Yes...all of us have the mentality that it won't/can't happen to them...next thing you know, you're in a ditch or sliding into a barbed wire fence (you'd be surprised how much of that I've seen).

It's much easier to pick up your trashed bike than it is to have to administer first aid and wait for the paramedics to patch you up and haul you off because you didn't have the appropriate gear. It's a huge inconvenience for you and others.

Recommended Gear:
Helmet
Jacket
Gloves (preferably with hard knuckle protection)
Knee/Shin Protection (it's less than $20 at cycle gear)
Boots
