New rider, new to forum

Hi everyone! I've been around the forum for a couple of weeks now, and figured it's time for the intro.

New rider, turned 40 last month. Took the MSF in California back in 2011, but never got a bike. Now taking the MSF again tomorrow and Friday, hopefully getting a new ride next week.

I am changing jobs in August and have a commute of 6 miles round trip, so we figured a motorcycle was a good way to go.

I'm 6 feet tall, about 250 pounds. I'm thinking about the Honda CB500f (like the naked bike look) or a Rebel 500. Well, those are the thoughts as of this week. It seems to change every week.

Looking forward to meeting folks here and thanks in advance for all the info and advice!

Welcome!

I really like that Rebel 500. I seriously thought about buying one a couple weeks ago. I decided to get the CRF250 Rally instead.
Now I just need to get Crossfits to show me where the dirt is.

Seat height on the Rebel might be a little low for you. The CB500F is a fun bike.

I almost bought a FZ6 back in 2011 when I took the MSF in California. Almost is the sad word, since soon after that life got in the way and I had to put riding on hold...until now! But yes! I will take a look at them again!

Was the FZ6 replaced by the FZ7? I was at the dealer the other day and sat on some FZ7 or FZ8 I forget?
