Exclamation Most dangerous intersection/merge in Sugar Land: Alt Hwy 90 east merge onto Hwy 59 f

Wow on this intersection. I occasionally will ride this route, as I did this morning on my MV. Highway 90 east (Alt) has an exit to right, then onto the Southwest freeway frontage road, south bound. The merge portion a) dips downhill b) is variable radius, and very tight pinhook, c) then has a totally blind merge onto the frontage road and d) following traffic is often heavy and fast meaning a full stop on a bike risks being rear ended.

I mean, this merge is totally blind: it is impossible to see south bound traffic already on the 59 frontage road. And, that traffic, instead of moving 50 mph often is going 60-70 as the lanes then feed onto the main Southwest Freeway south bound as an uphill, left exit.

Good thing this morning I was very cautious, even then a split second sooner I would have been dead. This intersection needs a light, or major redesign.

I think I will never ride this route again. Good thing I knew the danger, and was paying attention to intuition.

Do other riders have intersections they avoid?

Your mileage may vary.
