i'll try it tonight.
I've heard something about the up shifting that I should push any gear to 10,11,12 before shift to the next gear will give it more power on 6th, i don't know how true is this but you guys may know.
anyway the way i shift up to the next gears is something on 8-9 rpm's

You can go to the redline in every gear

yeah if you 250 is like my 300 ... Take it all the way to redline in 5th gear .. rev limiter should hit .. then in the future stop right before the rev limiter hit then switch to 6th. get all you can out of that 5th gear before shifting .. when you hit 6th it should have a little more pull out of it but not much then just bury the throttle and it will climb slowly to its max. In 6th gear you will hit max speed before hitting the rev limiter .. if you are right at the red line you are fine.

Im 230lbs and I have gotten my 300 up to 106 tucked in. Youtube your year of bike and max speed... you should be able to get it to 95-100 with your size. But I just remembered you just started riding to be careful .. 80-90 doesnt seem that fast to me but as soon as I hit a 100 I can feel the speed. You will have to tuck and get down low to get under the wind.

Edit: Also - that gas mileage you were getting putting around .. throw that out the window lol.

Working man ... suppose to be at right now but the fog keeps jacking with channel backing ships up. Once we get these last few cold fronts through and weather warms up should get back to normal.

I ride a bone stock 250 on the racetrack with fairings, handlebars, and footpegs replaced with race parts. But the motor is a 25,000 mile street motor with no mods. I run it into redline, 13,500 for best results at the track. In 2 years of abuse, bot racing and trackdays, I've changed the oil a year and put in a new air filter when the stock one fell apart from old age. These things are pretty reliable, even when beat on hard. Here my "instructional" video riding Trey's 250 at Texas World last year. This will give you an idea of the abuse we put on a bike over 24 hours of endurance racing across one season.

93 - 97 is the top speed on a stock bike. 100+ in race trim.

So how did the ride home go? Had a ship start tonight so I had to go in for 4 hours and the weather was great = bike ride to work . Just got the bike back from dealer doing some recalls so been itching to get on it. Rear brake is soft so return trip to dealer next week - was good practice just using the front didnt even touch the rear all 70 miles.
