Buying a new bike

Hi i found a ninja 250r on craiglist
It seems to be a good deal,
The bike is 2012 and has 1500 mile on it.

My concerns are, how can i check the bike VIN number on Sunday?
How to change the title safely? (The seller is not the owner, he bought the bike a week ago and got the title with the owner signature).
Any suggestions how to make a smooth transaction will be greatly appreciated!

When you say sunday is that when you plan to meet him? If so ask for the vin before sunday and have it checked out before you waste your time.
When I was buying my bike I wasted a lot of time going out to meet with people just to tell me that the bike is in someone else's name. I personally don't trust them, why buy a bike to just sell it a week later?
If the vin checks out and you still go out to meet him, just make sure to meet in a public place, I like to meet at the dmv or a police station. Good luck

And never bring cash.

I never buy on my first look. Show up, work out the deal, then schedule a time to meet. I always meet close to, or at, my bank to do the transaction. That way when everything is in order i zip in, get the cash, title gets signed over and everyone is protected.
