Buying a new bike
Hi i found a ninja 250r on craiglist
It seems to be a good deal, The bike is 2012 and has 1500 mile on it. My concerns are, how can i check the bike VIN number on Sunday? How to change the title safely? (The seller is not the owner, he bought the bike a week ago and got the title with the owner signature). Any suggestions how to make a smooth transaction will be greatly appreciated! |

Im The Dreaded One

When I was buying my bike I wasted a lot of time going out to meet with people just to tell me that the bike is in someone else's name. I personally don't trust them, why buy a bike to just sell it a week later? If the vin checks out and you still go out to meet him, just make sure to meet in a public place, I like to meet at the dmv or a police station. Good luck |

And never bring cash.
I never buy on my first look. Show up, work out the deal, then schedule a time to meet. I always meet close to, or at, my bank to do the transaction. That way when everything is in order i zip in, get the cash, title gets signed over and everyone is protected. |
