working on bike so i can ride to work got me sick. now i'm missing work, lol

see the subject!

i have been trying to get my rear wheel on (i'm a noob, c'mon) for a while (an hour tonight and a few last night) and i worked well into the midnight last night. i got sick. figured it was just a cold, bah, whatever. woke up this morning and couldnt talk. on my car drive to work, i decided to do something about that. i yelled at the top of my lungs for 5 or 10 minutes until i was coughing and gagging on phlegm.
my voice through the day was pretty crappy and unsteady. basically i sounded like a teenage boy going through puberty.
when i got home, i got back out to work on the bike. it's not so cold right now. bah. whatever.
after i finished the job, i returned the rear stand i was using to willie (v4lu3s or something like that) and we bs'd outside for a good while. i drove my parent's car back to their house and rode my bike back to my house. about half way back, the low fuel warning light comes on and i say to myself 'oh great' only it sounds more like 'hhhhhhhh'
awesome, i cant talk again.
i called work and whispered to my boss that i'm sorry, i'm actually sick for thanksgiving and cant come in. , i know.

lol. man. i actually do hate missing work. i work in the jail and i really enjoy my job

I had a sinus infection two weeks ago. I took a round of antibiotics and steriods. Just as I got to feeling better, I ended up with a cold.

I feel your pain. I have the creeping death cough and people look at me like I am some sort of carrier monkey.

Just in time for the holidays! lol
