ClearWirelessInternet4g - How Does This Work?

Anyone see these people?

http://www.clearwirelessinternet4g.c.../tx/h/houston/

I have an ATT wireless plan with OTGI now, and a Verizon-bundled home phone/internet/cable plan. How can these guys save me money?

I don't know. Both?

A friend said this about his own situation: "I could do home internet and on-the-go internet (4G) for $55 per month, while dropping my home phone and internet (local Verizon phone and DSL for $45 per month)." and "I've heard 4G is fast but speed varies greatly. A techie friend has said my DSL will likely be faster most of the time."

i have it. works really well, but i haven't been anywhere with a weak or no clear signal only being in houston. i have the one i can take anywhere. it's a little over 60 a month after tax with the 4g/3g device. only thing i've noticed so far is i can't watch games on espn3.com because it's not supported.

I went and checked out their system but was not really sure about since I didn't know anyone with it but I did win an ipad from them the same day with no threads attached!

Its a partnership between Sprint and Clearwire inc. It uses the sprint WiMax 4G with comcast's backbone. I think they advertised a max of 6Mbps down and 1Mbps up.

I have mobile and home. Kick's (I'm no techie), but I am in a good coverage area.

My results a few minutes ago from speedtest.net, Austin location test.

More than anything else, it depends on your coverage area. I have seen it used on a commercial level at a hotel in Corpus Christi TX (the whole hotel!) and it worked great! But that's because nobody in Corpus had it so bandwith was not being pulled by other users

IMO though youd be better off just buying an Android device or iPhone and broadcasting 3G hotspot in your home, or 4g Sprint if you go Evo. I am about to cancel my $50/month Earthlink/Comcast Cable very soon because in TX City, hardly anyone taps 3G/Tmobile so I have excellent speed/reception on my Nexus One...and it's only $20/month for internet
