Why Did Do It?

It seems like we can't take credit for anything anymore. Something good happens, it's "Oh has blessed us!" and if something bad happens it's " made this happen for a reason." I'm not trying to bash religion at all, I love religion, but really folks? I was talking to a good friend of mine this morning who just found out she was pregnant last week. Nineteen year old college freshman. Last week she was unsure if she would keep the baby or not and today when I spoke to her she said she was keeping it because "I think did this for a reason" Ummmm, why would want you to have an illegitimate child? I'm pretty sure YOU did it when you had without a condom. Sorry, I obviously couldn't say this to her but I wanted to say it. Seems like I hear people refusing to take responsibility for their actions more and more and is such an easy fallback.

I think your friend made the right choice.

I think a lot of people do not understand or want in their life until they experience something that causes them to rethink their situation. Such as death or a close friend or family member, a birth of a child, or any other life changing experience. IMO

I don't, but it's not an "is abortion right?" thread.

Props to your friend for keeping the kid. I believe that has a plan for all of us. We don't understand it now, everyone will understand it later in life.

I think she had a lot going for her that I would be shocked if she was able to continue now. If she does continue with it, I don't think her baby will be raised with a firm view on who is "mom."

I think the question wasn't "Should she get an abortion?" but rather "Why did get her knocked up?"

then it would've been her choice and I wouldn't know the difference. I wouldn't blame her for not wanting to bring a child up by herself and without being financially stable.

I dont believe in having children out of wedlock and I am pro-abortion.

Then I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be here to care. Why is death of something that can't feel pain or even has a brain so terrible?

It could be but you were referencing that knocked her up.

Yep. I have said this before. When its good it's 's blessing, when it's bad it's 's way. bunch of bs.

Now that I read the responses it looks like this thread will go down the quickly. People can't read and would rather argue abortion then actually discuss the OP's question.

Sorry I had a mental image of her at the planned parenthood yelling that as she walked in. Really though, now it's going to be "Why the **** did you ruin my life you ten year old"

That is what she said, directly or indirectly, got her pregnant. Dan was just repeating it

sometimes religion can be one's prescription for life.

maybe now she realizes that she eff'd up and wants to get back into 's good graces?

There are biblical references that show that when you are committed to , you will be promised peace and healing.. "I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners. I create the fruit of the lips: Peace, peace, to him that is far off and to him that is near, saith Jehovah; and I will heal him. But the wicked are like the troubled sea; for it cannot rest, and its waters cast up mire and dirt. There is no peace, saith my , to the wicked." (Isaiah 57:18-21

I just love how these turn into abortion threads.

I'm sure some ppl on here would have second thoughts about it if they knew their daughter was bringing home a halfrican in 9 months, present company excluded!

Well, she's dumb. It might be 's plan, but surely not Him knocking her up.
