OHV Sticker question

Okay, so I have a current (2017-2018) OHV sticker to ride the Sam Houston NATIONAL forest... but can I ride it in the Kasatchie NATIONAL forest (Louisiana).. even though the forestry service is a National one, my sticker is in the shape of Texas... Planning a quick trip in a few days and want to be legal...

I don't see anything on their web page about needing any registration. The Texas stickers are through Texas Parks & Wildlife and are only good in Texas.

We were good. Talked with the forestry dept when they rolled up and they accepted our America the Beautiful Annual Pass and didn't even check our bikes... there were a good amount of riders there considering it was open season for both sexes.. (that was a last minute realization).. but the hunters were fine, we didn't ride in the early morning or at dust to give them their hunts..

That's strange, America the Beautiful is for National Parks, nothing to do with the Forests. I didn't think anything was needed to ride there. No fees, no sticker, no permit. Just need a USFS spark arrestor as in all NF's. There is about 5-6 different trail networks up there. I drove by Sandstone last month, it looked even sandier than SHNF and 95% ATV's in the campground.

We didnít make it to Sandstone, stayed at Cravens.. which is good because Iím not a fan of the sand at all.

Maybe the forest addition is new to the annual pass: https://store.usgs.gov/faq#Annual-Pass

Where can I use my Annual Pass?

The Forest Service, the National Park Service, Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, and US Army Corp of Engineers honor the Annual Pass at sites where Entrance or Standard Amenity Fee(s) (Day use fees) are charged.

Wow that is great to know. Pays to keep current on rules and changes. Per above I will now save $25 a year as no longer need to purchase a SHNF annual pass for day use fees to ride.

I hear ya... We camp frequently and are taking a Big Bend trip soon, so this pass is really beneficial for us.

ditto
NF's are the bomb. Camp free, ride free, many have pit toilets and a few even have water.

Not true, a lot of states require out of state people to be current in their state to ride. For example New Mexico will let you ride the public areas as long as you have whatever registration your home state requires.

Really surprised any state reciprocates; learned something new.
