Great times and even better people!

Shout out to the Texas Mini GP staff for putting together a non-scheduled racing school for two of my kids. My 8yo boy had a attention issue and was further accommodated which was above and beyond of what they had to do.

The kids did four races each. No crashes and every event was finished which was our goal. This was the their first time at this track and I could tell they were hesitant, but slowly picked up speed lap after lap. They are definitely more confident at Speedsportz.

My girl accidentally hit her kill switch 2nd race on the grid which was very minor, however princessís confidence was diminished for the rest of the day. Then of course as baby brother was beating her on a smaller bike added much more drama in the pits.

All in all this is definetly a great venue for the kids. After the school / license cost, itís actually more economical than the big bike track days. We are in the process of building two more bikes!

Ohóand the walk through scooter races was hilarious!

I need to get back out there, my son will be elligible in about two months, but we have been devoting our time to the Katy BMX track thats right down the road from the kart track. Did yall get them some leathers or are they in MX gear?

After a long search we were able to get leathers for my two kids. I basically had to blast various mediaís to find them. We got lucky, each set of leathers was wrapped up with back protectors/boots/gloves deal.

How old is your child? Not sure if it was a slow round, but I did not see many 12yo and under. They are catering to stock CRF-50ís which are plentiful and require a simple tire swap. The rims can be reused.

Would be nice to see more MH kids competing in that class. Although I did not see anyone with MX gear, Iím sure if they are in 50ís the organizers would accommodate.

I already have a 50 and 70 he can run. I also have my XR100 set up to run. I believe the minimum age requirement is 8, I need to revisit that. I would want him in leathers for sure though.

Actually, the 12 & under race was about the biggest grid we've had all year. Previous biggest grid was 5 I think and usually there's only 3 or 4.

I was thinking to propose a gear swap at the next/last round for anybody interested. My youngest has outgrown his boots and I'm sure we have at least 1 set of gloves that's too small by now.

He will be against the 12yo and under. Next year Iíll have three kids competing. If I can get a waiver for my youngest (7yo, who is actually quick on the dirt) that will be four.

Like I said, we need to get more MH kids involved. Little 50ís and 70ís are plentiful on CL. Iím not beyond helping anyone get their bike sorted for tech!

The biggest PIA has been leathers and boots.
