I always told my wife to pull into a busy parking area where lots of folks were around....no matter who was stopping her...if a cop does not like that, we can talk about it in front of a judge.

This is basically hearsay (so don't be mad if I'm wrong), but I've heard you can call the police station to verify that you're being pulled over by a real LEO and not some guy in a used police interceptor.

Although making a phone call while riding a bike may prove to be difficult...

If I wasn't sure they were actually law enforcement I'd pull over in a public place and ask to see their badge (hopefully they're wearing it) and department issued ID. If I still didn't feel safe i'd call 911 and let them figure it out. If the officer had an issue with that they can deal with it for being in an unmarked vehicle.

If you're asking about a situation that is sketchy as and the "cop" isn't being typical, has an issue with identifying themselves, etc. I'd have no problems not stopping and calling 911 or defending myself with deadly force and letting and/or the courts sort it out.

looks like we are all in agreement cops shouldn't pull over people in unmarked cars.

Nope, not right away. They can wait until I get somewhere very public and well lit.

I’ve never had an encounter with unmarked units. I’d definitely be on the phone with a PD or 911 though.

The law is pretty clear on this. You are to pull over immediately. When the officer walks up to you and asks to see your ID you're supposed to speed off as soon as you can.

Unless the infraction is really that bad.

I also believe cops shouldn't stand on freeway shoulders in rush hour traffic to give out tickets for expired tags. Hasn't happened to me, but they cause even more traffic. I hate to even think about this, but they a cop will probably get ran over one day.

I've never heard of an unmarked cop car doing a traffic stop, not saying it hasn't happened.

I would hope that even the police are smart enough to realize that is gonna be a potential problem.
Not sure how I would react, but I'm thinking...
pull over in a well lit area with people around and if the cop gets out in street clothes and not displaying a badge, driving forward about 20 feet.
Keep doing that until he identifies himself or a real cop shows up since I will be talking to 911.

And all taxation IS theft, at the end of a bayonet.

I don't mind paying taxes for roads and a military but the rest of it is hard to swallow.

The purpose of the federal govt is to regulate international trade and commerce between the states, while protecting the borders against foreign invaders.

That's it.

THAT was the intent of the founding fathers but it has morphed into this unholy mess we have now by corrupt politicians, eager to pad their own pockets and increase their power.

I saw an unmarked Camaro pulling people over in the beltway and 249 about a week ago. If it was me I sure as wouldn’t stop for an unmarked Camaro with just some dash lights.

As for the sticker police, they cause way more traffic because they usually have a herd of these pigs corraling cars into a parking lot to hand out tickets for stickers. Police give the dumbasses of this country a false sense of security. The only real security you can have is a good ol gun. 2 on your person, 3 knives, one for every room of your house, one in your car, one behind the toilet, one between the couch cushions. The police are just there to collect the dead bodies.

and to put a bunch of nasty finger print dust all over your house that won't wash off and you have to repaint.
