JUST BUY A GENUINE ARTIFICIAL DIAMOND, REAL NATURAL DIAMONDS ARE IMPERFECT, SHE IS PERFECT, THEREFORE SHE DISERVES A PERFECT DIAMOND

ARTIFICIAL DIAMONDS ARE JUST MADE BY PEOPLE, THEY ARE MUCH CHEAPER, AND ARE MADE OF THE SAME STUFF AS REAL DIAMONDS, CARBON.

THE DIAMOND INDUSTRY WILL HAVE YOU BELIEVE THE IMPERFECTIONS IN REAL DIAMONDS MAKE THEM BETTER, F THAT. SAVE YOUR MONEY UNLESS YOU ARE JUST ROLLING IN IT.

OTHER THAN THAT, I RECCOMEND READING UP ON DIAMONDS.

MY BEST SUGGESTION IS BUY A GOOD HAND LENS, SUCH AS THE BOSCH AND LOMB 10X. IT IS VERY EASY TO USE. BRING IT WITH YOU WHEN EVER YOU GO TO BUY MINERALS/GEMS. IT'S ALSO HANDY FOR EXAMINING REALLY SMALL THINGS.

ah, i bought my wife some 1.25ct earring last yr for her grad present. i didn't put my much time or effort into them as they were earring vs engt. ring. as long as they're somewhat white and sparkly, thats all that matters

on earrings get the most cts. you can vs best c's..........lol

other chics will notice how big they are vs the c's on the ears, they won't come up to your girl and inspect the earrings, they'll just see how big the are.

spend the $ on the C's when you buy an engt ring. cuz the ring will get inspected by other fems.

Ok... This is my opinion and coming from a female about diamonds. I don't necessary care about the clarity as much as I do the color or carot. Unless you have one of those looking glasses like someone mentioned before or you want decent resale value... You won't notice if it has a few specks of whatever in it by the naked eye. You can save some cash right there. Personally, I would much rather prefer a bigger diamond and whiter diamond than one that was clearer. If that makes since and hope this helps.

Mall diamonds suck and are way overpriced. I suggest a shop. Normal lighting so u wont get all dazzled by bullshit.

Get a tennis bracelt. Cheap and it looks good.
For a ring stay under 1 ct, after that the price goes up.

This is pretty much the way to go. Each diamond will have some sort of rating on the color and clarity chart. Once you decide how much flaw you're willing to accept, then go from there. I've always found that once you find a diamond that's acceptable to you as far as color and clarity go, you're gonna end up spending twice as much as you initially intended to.

Depends on the girl and the occassion. If she's worth it, don't go cheap.

Unless you or her are picky just focus on the grade of the cut and color. You really have to look for inclusions in the diamond but everyone will notice if it is yellow so get a nice color. The grade of the cut is what makes the diamond look "blingy" for a lack of better words. Just to be clear there is the grade of the cut and the type of cut which are two different things. It is best to determine the grade of the cut and color that you are looking for and then see how big of a stone you can afford in that cut and color. Blue Nile is a good place to start to get a feel for price and then look at them in person to get a feel for the differences in color and cut combinations and go from there. Some diamonds will have certifications and some won't. You can get some better deals on non certified stones but you have to have a good eye so you don't get bamboozled. So if you don't REALLY know what you are looking at then it is best to get a certified stone. Many of them will be laser inscribed if it is certified. So if you buy a loose stone and have them set it in some earrings make sure you look at the inscribed serial number before and after they set them. Places have been know to do the old switcheroo especially if they break it when setting it. If there is no serial number then ask to watch him set it. Do not let the stone leave your sight especially if you are going to a second rate dealer.

WATCH OUT FOR "DIAMONDS" THAT ARE ONLY TOPPED WITH A CUT DIAMOND, AND THE REST OF THE "DIAMOND" IS SOME CLEAR CHEAP STONE. I.E. THINK OF ONE OF THESE DIAMONDS AS GOLD PLATED JEWRY AND NOT SOLID GOLD.

DUNNO HOW TO CHECK FOR THIS. I'M A SINGLE NON-DIAMOND EXPERT SO TAKE MY DIAMOND/WOMAN GIFT ADVICE WITH A GRAIN OF SALT. I STILL THINK A GUN IS BETTER THAN A DIAMOND THOUGH.

LIKE OTHER'S HAVE SAID, GOOD CUT MAKES THAT DIAMOND SPARKLE REAL GOOD. I.E. IF THE DIAMOND WAS A ROUND BALL, MINIMAL BLING. START SLICING IT UP REAL GOOD AND THERE ARE MORE FACES AND EDGES TO CUT UP LIGHT FOR MAX BLING.
