Have you look into the "for sale" tread?
This bike here looks like within your budget and ready for fun.

This one here is great but IMO you need to know basic mechanics to make it last...

I love SV650's and how fun they are to ride.
This naked one is has cool mods and looks ready to go as well...

I'd entertain selling my 2002 Honda Superhawk 996 for that price. 6,300 miles, good tires, blue title, needs nothing but someone who will ride her more often than I do. You won't find a cleaner one around. Was owned by a female prior to me purchasing.

Here are some pics I had on my phone. I've put about 1,500 miles on the tires since they were installed. PM if interested.

SV has clip on risers so not like the handle bars of a monster.
Just as fun as the monster, easier to ride.
We love ours

No problem,
In that case, contact the sellers and show up with the money so you can ask them to ride up and down the street to see if you like one better than the other.
Both sellers are good peeps and they have been members of the forum for a long time...
Good luck!

Thanks guys! I've been toying with the idea of selling her for a while now. Rode her out to Tomball this past weekend for some crawfish...that torque will leave you with some perma-grin.

Few more bucks and I'll throw in the stands I have and the motorcycle lift w/wheel chock. Pink bike with basket not for sale.

They're more like mj. Cheap, reliable, readily available...packs enough punch to get the job done but not so much that you get into any trouble. You can still get arrested on one tho.

I love SV's and am a strong advocate of them myself...however that SuperHawk is super attractive in comparison. Very beautiful and fun bike dbuck.

Whatever bike you purchase, make sure you have money for gear as well. People seem to forget that in their "budget" for motorcycling. MH has a great community and sales section where you can grab essentials for cheap.
Looking forward to seeing you out soon.
