but bad for the economy which in turn hurts the locals in the long run. groceries have gotten out of control already and 5 dollar gas isn't even here yet.

So what are the primary factors driving the price of gas up?

i wanna cry everytime I go to the pump. I remember filling up my bike and cruising all day long on 4 dollars. thought I would a brick when diesel hit 1.10. that was outrageous! not look at what happened

lol. I'd be willing to bet the oil industry isn't passing their good fortune on to their employees. they'll suffer with high food bills and gas just like the rest of us.

In reality, the price of oil as compared to other real goods has remained fairly stable.

i doubt that... those that voted for him in 08 to prove they weren't racist won't vote for this time to prove they're not retarded.

Back to your original question...

I think that Obama will allow the gas prices to skyrocket and then swoop in with some clever plan to lower the price, save the economy and end up the hero.
Just in time for the election.

It's the perfect plan. Create a fake crisis and then solve it right before an election.

sounds nice, but there isn't a thing obama can do about gas prices besides releasing reserves and that opens up a whole nuther can o worms
