Newb - ZX-4R vs Ninja 650
Hey Everyone. Let me start off by saying I'm a complete newb and maybe 1-2 weeks into shopping for my first bike. I know nothing about bikes, and this is a relatively new thing that's caught my attention, so let's just assume I know absolutely nothing.
That out of the way, I'm a little confused looking at Kawasaki's lineup and am hoping someone can enlighten me. Note, my plan for the bike I get would be 80% weekend cruiser, and maybe 20% track bike (Note, I've been tracking cars for a long time, so not a total newb, but definitely a newb as far as bikes are concerned).
When looking at the Ninja 400, I've seen a few reviews, articles, etc... saying to wait for the ZX-4R that's apparently coming in 2023. Estimates put this bike around 70 horsepower and around $8,000.
Looking at the Ninja 650, that is also around 70 horsepower and $8,000. Figuring there has to be a "functional" difference between the two, why would someone be inclined to get one vs the other?
