hot weather Helmets... what to get?

I've lived in the tropics or sub tropics for most of my life and still sweat like a pig... the rest of my gear works well for the impending summer but I know my helmet doesn't flow enough air to keep me from feeling like I'm diying...

so the question... what lids are you guys using with lots of ventilation? I've got my eyes on a couple of dual sport/adv helmets with plans to remove the peak but being it's been a long while since I've ridding in summer heat (back riding after about 15 years) I'd ask what is being used around here...

the one thing I know is pinlock is a given... beyond that *shurg*... so what is your goto?

I'm doing mostly commuting down in the clear lake area on my 650 versys or bmw thumper... both nice upright bikes so the adv style should be fitting.

I've never even thought about getting a helmet based on how cool it is. I've just always sweated in all my helmets. Even a very vented dirt bike helmet.

I bought the Icon Airflite Peacekeeper Rubaton and it flows really nice for a adventure/street hybrid helmet. It's not as loud on the inside either... my only negative experience is the full face visor can cause annoying reflections on the inside, that may mess with your vision. I'm almost ready to take it back because the reflections are getting too bad for my comfort. But, the large vent in front and the flow vents in the helmet, really help keep it cool inside.

Arai Corsair V (now outdated and needs to be replaced) or my Sedici Strada Carbon (was a Christmas gift from my ex-girlfriend) a big decision-maker when I buy a helmet is how well it is ventilated. I WILL NOT buy a helmet that hardly flows any air

I've always as well... I'd sweat even in a normal bicycle helmet lol... the meds I'm on don't help with that... but air flow is good especially on the head.

thanks guys for the posts you've gotten so far... look forward to seeing some more options and making a list... right now what I've got is working well and should into the 80's... but later spring weather should be miserable.

A helmet liner helps. I've got the one from CG, I'm surprised it took me so long to try it out. It helps keep your head cool and your liner cleaner for longer. Also, when putting on the helmet it slips on pretty easy too.

I have a Shoei-x14, an Icon Airflite and Ruroc 2.0 Atlas.

The shoei has excellent ventilation and also is great for cold temps as all ventilation is securely closed off when needed.

The Icon Airflite is amazing for a summer helmet, but it is a bit loud. It flows a ton of air, but wearing it in the winter will freeze you. Even if you close the vents, the air is definitely getting in.

Ruroc 2.0 Atlas has good airflow but is a cheap helmet. It's definitely not worth buying imo. And if you don't wear earplugs, you'll go deaf.

Icon Airflite is the best summer helmet out of the 3 I own. But you will need to ride with another helmet during the winter.

I watched reviews of SHOEI RF1400. Seems like it's better vented than previous versions of the RF. My RF1200 is good enough for me, but I would not call any full face helmet as one with good ventilation.

Sorry to be late to the party on this, but you could try a 3/4 helmet if you don't mind those. All my full-face ones seem to be about the same air-flow wise, as long as you take into account that lighter colors tend to stay a bit cooler (so whatever you get, buy a white/light color one).

My AGV K3 flows pretty good air. The drop down visor is virtually useless, but it’s there. Has pretty good room for my Sena BT and speaker cut outs. Buffets a little bit around 90 on my naked Harley. Everything moves a little around then...

Install an air conditioner at home. Then you will definitely not sweat. Just before you buy it, read on the Internet, which is better to not buy some . Unfortunately, I made this mistake, and so after a month of work, my air conditioner broke down. When my aircon not cooling, then I immediately gave it to repair and didn't deal with it myself. I did it because I was afraid of fire. I have often been told that when the air conditioner stops releasing cold air, it is usually caused by overheating the contacts. Well, you understand that if the air conditioner is overheated, it can catch fire. Of course, I wanted to avoid such an outcome of events, so I gave it to the repair.

I m also living in a hot area. When I bought a helmet for the first time, at that time I also faced the same situation. I used to feel very uncomfortable with my helmet because of not proper ventilation, I used to sweat a lot whenever I wear a helmet. After buying 3 or 4 helmets I found the best helmet for me. It's Shoei VFX-EVO, it's really a great helmet, fully ventilated. Actually, it is a motocross helmet. The design of the helmet is specially made for ventilation because it is open from the front and also has a small net front of the mouth. I am really fully satisfied with this helmet and I have been using it for the last 4 months.

Most motocross helmets wouldn't have the safety factor that most street helmets do, for the street.

X2 on the Helmet Liner, makes a big difference and they are cheap on amazon. You can get all black or as funky as your personality allows.

As far as helmets go, I have a Pista GP RR. It flows a lot of air but pretty dang loud. I got it as a gift and I would have never spent that much money on myself.

The RPHA 70 did not flow air well but was quiet and kept my brain safe when I went down.
