1998 Honda Super Hawk 996 (VTR1000F) - Red, the fastest color
25,336 miles

Kingwood (Northeast Houston)

The powerful 1 liter V-twin engine on this bike will invite you to crank the throttle open every time you straddle it.

This is one of the quickest bikes around, even being an older model. Some say the Super Hawk was the quickest (0-60) production motorcycle of its time. All I know is, whether that's true or not, this one is likely even faster, with lighter, free-flowing D&D carbon fiber exhaust (sounds great!) and jetted carbs. It also has after-market enhancements to the front and rear suspension.

I bought this bike for track day use, but only took it out for that purpose twice (to Texas World Speedway) - it just hasn't been a priority for me. But this thing just begs to be ridden fast. With most of my motorcycling miles being commuting downtown these days, there's just not much call for this fire-breather in my life.

This bike is set up for track use (by the previous owner, so I don't know much about the details) but is still street legal. I take it out about once or twice per month to keep it in shape. It has a fluid retaining belly pan (it doesn't leak, but some tracks require it), most fasteners are safety wired, low profile turn signals, frame sliders, and a steering stabilizer. The shifter is currently set up for normal shifting, but can be set up for GP-style shifting as well.

The bike currently has a set of Michelin Pilot Road 2's on it. Not the stickiest tires in the world, but plenty of miles left on them, and they'll keep your bike better planted in the rain than pure sport tires.

What you get:
- The bike - it runs great, and well - it can be crazy fast. That's all I'm going to say about that.

And all the bike parts you see in the pictures.
- Rear seat cowl
- Hook up for battery tender - (I may throw in the Battery Tender if you need one)
- LP Racing race stands
- Stomp Grips (never installed)
- Original exhaust
- Original rear shock & spring
- Original fairing pieces (some damaged, but not in terrible shape)
- Extra right-side mirror
- Original foot pegs
- Original bar-ends
- Extra bar-ends
- Original turn signals and reflectors
- Original license plate light
- Extra levers
- Extra Rear sprocket
- Extra chain
- Left-overs from carb jet and Race-Tech front shock kits
- Grab-strap for rear seat
- Extra seat cover
- Three extra windshields (one dark tinted)
- A few other tiddly odds and ends that aren't worth detailing.

Clean title

More pictures available on Craigslist posting.

$2,595 (obo) takes it all (for MotoHouston members - ignore the price on Craigslist)

Oh, and I've got a Harbor Freight Tire Changer in my garage, too... If you really want it... I might be talked into including that, too.
