I converted a DRZ250 many moons ago. Still fun and makes resale much better.

BTW, unless the regs changed in the last few years, a 250 does not require hi/lo headlight, otherwise it's is pretty simple as already described.

Horn, one lever brake activation (front OR rear), license plate light, and DOT tires. Then get a green tag inspection and turn off road only title in for minty fresh street legal one.

Don't skip the DOT legal tires if you will ride on street. Sidewalls aren't as stout on non-DOT tires and you will figure that out when you accidentally push too much in the middle of a higher speed turn on the street...trust me on this one, lol.

Go for it! I've heard nothing but good things about the DR350, but I've never seen one up close. I'd love to see it sometime!

Unfortunately those specific trails have all been demolished for housing developments, they used to be right at the end of my cul de sac off of 249 and Northpointe. There are some good trails up in Tomball, search Red Fox lane and scroll east and behold.

I've been toying the idea of getting another ADV bike, or just a small 250 dual sport, but it.... I don't want to have to ride 50+ miles of interstate just to get to the good stuff, which in the end is just maintained gravel roads. It's already bad that a small chunk of my rides on the street are spent hauling to brookshire or waller.

I'm down for some dual sporting or trail riding! I'm on the north side and have hit rio a few times with my 500exc in order to justify it taking up space in the garage. I have come to the conclusion these kind of bikes are only fun if your buddy has one.

It's been a few years. I used to race the evo series when hump ran it. We would race there a few times a year. I have since graduated to trail riding. Area 51, the woods track or maybe the gp track would be fun. If there as laid back as I remember they would be doable. Do they have any trails?

I am riding a street legal 260 lb ktm500exc, I don't see the main track or even the river track in my future with the dot knobbies.
