Dunlop introduces the new Q4 sport tire.

New product information from Dunlop. The new Q4 is on the way, but not available until June of this year. Dunlop is calling it a "purpose built track day tire that achieves lean angles of up to 62 degrees, which is more than other street legal tires offered by Dunlop. User friendly and designed to offer performance and grip like no other tire on the market. It features on tread branding and a high-luster finish for a bold look, that is matched by it's bold performance."

That quote is from a sales flyer we received from our Dunlop distributor. I find the wording a little strange. On tread branding and a high-luster finish? That's what I really like in a tire. It's got letters on the sidewall and it's shiny! All joking aside this tire should offer a high level of performance for you track day riders without the need for tire warmers or the high price of actual race tires. I don't have exact pricing just yet but it appears it will sell for just a few dollars more than a Q3+. It is not replacing the current Q3+, both will be available. The original Q3 is going away and already sold out from the distributor. I do still have a few of the original Q3's in stock and on sale for $114.99 or $10 more for a 190/50-17. I am out of stock on Q3 front tires. Have a safe and happy weekend.

The Q3+ held up very well on an R3 in the 8 hour endurance race at Nola so it'll be interesting to see how the Q4 does when they start making it in the smaller sizes.

That's awesome that a street tire would hold up to the non-stop abuse of an endurance race. The Q4 should be better given it is being promoted as a track day tire. Hopefully the will offer it in sizes for the smaller machines, currently no part #'s for the smaller sizes.
