Bear Creek

Anyone live out in Bear Creek?

I'm moving soon and I am going to check out a house on Friday near Clay and Hwy 6. Any opinions about the area?

lived there 30yrs ago (glencarin (sp?))

wouldn't buy a house there now, unless you go further up clay towards barker or down 6 to copperfield.

if you work downtown, this is the worst decision you can make.....clay to eldridge to i-10 or 6 to i-10.....is over an hour by itself, not to mention getting there through the neighborhood or the rest of the commute....

quiet neighborhood though...for the most part...
Cool, I think I may be in okay shape then. I'm looking to rent and the house is only about 3 turns away from 6 and Clay. Plus I work on Park Row and Barker so it's only a few miles morning commute. I do know about the gigantic CF that is Highway 6 and I-10 though, that's the only downside.

When are they supposed to finish the Hwy 6 bridge over I-10? That is going to be so great when they finish. Just like the overpass at hwy 6 & 90.

used to live on karenbeth (keith harrow and 6), good quiet neighborhood (and they were building some nice looking houses right in front of my neighborhood, but that was 4 years ago...), hwy 6 at i10 and barker cypress at i10 were in the mornings though!

dude! don't do it...I've lived @ aspenglenn and hickorydowns for 10 years and just moved away. it was pretty quiet and nice for a while but the last couple of years the area has gone waaaaayyy down. gans/wanna be gangs are causin lots of problems.

if you could go west of hwy 6 or north of 529 you'd be better off.

I have been working off of Tanner, Brittmoore and/or Clay since 2001 and one thing I can tell you, IT FLOODS!!!
I had a 2001 Taurus SEL but trashed it in a flood during 2002. I lived off of Jones and Grant driving to work.
Been driving a truck ever since to get the ground clearance.

It doesn't take much rain to flood this area either!

mornings, evenings and weekends! I HATED getting stuck in that area all the time I didn't know what was worse, the constant road construction or the heavy traffic.

I had many mornings when I lived in stonegate (Barker Cypress & 290) that at 6-6:30 AM it was already bumper to bumper further out. Thankfully I work in Waller and went against traffic both ways.
