Would You Rent Out Your Motorcycle?
Rent out your motorcycle? It's becoming more popular
https://usat.ly/2JUTeYi MILWAUKEE -- Some people would have a hard time letting their beloved motorcycle roll off with a stranger, but it’s become more common due to the*digital economy. It works like Airbnb, the website that lets people rent out their own apartments or houses. In this case, a few Internet-based services connect*motorcyclists with others throughout the country who want to make a little extra cash by renting out their bikes. Launched last October*in Texas, the service has since gone nationwide and now has about 600 bikes for rent and more than 5,000 registered users. |

I have heard of ride share before and if it was my second or third bike and one I was thinking about selling anyway I might but my primary bike I probably wouldn’t. I have used Turo before to rent a Tesla for the weekend.
I imagine like Turo people will keep extra bikes to rent like a business. I imagine this would be more lucrative with bikes as it won’t be as much if an investment for the stuff people want to rent and you can charge pretty much the same as the car rental. I paid 150day to drive a 140k car where I could charge 100-150day for renting a brand new RSV4 for 15k or a Haley Sportster for 8-10k. As far as insurance most have a section that covers ride share use so I imagine it would be a similar coverage to make sure your covered. |

No, I would not rent my motorcycle. I give my brother a ride on it, but I'm very worried every time. He loves cars more.

No. I have allowed folks I knew and trusted their skill and care to ride mine.
I would not rent to someone I do not know. |

Young people do a lot of stupid ! Ha ha ha Seriously, I think you'd have to rent it an awful lot of times to make it worthwhile IMHO. Seems like the occasional $100-150 would hardly be worth the risk even if it IS insured. One small crash would eat several rentals in deductible and all the other rentals would be paying for my time and hassle, leaving me with a zero gain. |

I'd rent out my R1 for $20 a day. But you can get the Level 1 upgrade package that includes the seat, a front wheel and fender for another $1k. If you go with the deluxe package you get everything from Level 1 plus you get handlebars with really cool horn, start, and signal buttons for another $1k. If you become a member of **FRP**, Frequent Renters Program, $15k annually, you get all the preceding, I remove the lock from the back wheel, I replace the 2L Coke bottle with the tube in it that you have to hold with an authentic R1 fuel holder, both tires will be mounted, I'll allow you to wash it and put gas in it, and I promise not to report the bike as stolen like last time.
................. tips welcome...... |

I had a renter lined up for this weekend, but he couldn't swing the $1000 hold they were going to put on his card. I was iffy about letting someone on my bike anyway...
