I posted in a thread a while back that you can do a whole kit for less then $250. It won't be stylish but it'll be ATG.

This months Comp Acc catalogue:

Helmet: ZOX super comp R - $50
Feildsheir Mesh Tex - $90
0-60 Mako gloves - $25
Knee pads (Motorcycles Unlimited sells some for less then $20 I think) - $25
Cheap walmart thick leathette boot that lace over the ankle - $40
Cheap thick walmart jeans - $25

Not stylish but functional.
