I'm surprised that no one else mentioned it to you earlier. The thing is I picked the mag up 2 weeks ago and it took me this long to tell you. I kept looking for a thread by you mentioning it or something. I was thinking today that I better let you know before there were no more left on the racks.

Again congrats and sorry I didn't tell you sooner.

Man, I'm so glad you told me! I've been so busy lately, and spending so much time dealing with the Insurance, i had not had the chance to pick up this month's copy! Well, I had time now!!! I went to 3 different places, and bought about 10 issues so far!!

Thanks Ken!

So.... I sent these scans over to the insurance, and combined with all the other receipts and info (4 other BOTMs), they are gonna reconsider the value. They talked to Patrick at Motorcycles Unlimited, and he told them what he believes the value of the bike should be (Thanks Patrick!!).

So with all this, I hope they come back with a more reasonable offer. The insurance guy did add that they may now reconsider whether it's a Total Loss or not, and go ahead and fix it!

If they still Total it anyway, then I'm not sure if I should buy it back and rebuild; or maybe just buy it back regardless, and keep it as is for the track, then buy another bike for the street; or just let them keep it, take the money, and buy a new bike. Decisions, decisions....

Well I got word from the insurance, and we came to an agreement. Not as much as I wanted, but close enough. More importantly, it was much, much more than they originally offered, and it'll have NO SALVAGE TITLE, whether they keep it and I take all the money and run, or... buy it back and fix it with what money remains. Pretty fair deal, although I'll have to be wise and spend it efficiently to get the bike back to the same pristine condition. Fair enough, considering....

Decisions, decisons....

If I buy it back, I will still have enough money to buy another bike! Albeit used, but still enough for a decent bike (track bike?). To get the 919 roadworthy, but not neccessarily clean looking, all I need is a headlight and instrument cluster. Even if I just bought those, I would still have enough money for another bike! I just need to decide if that other bike be a track bike (Yay! ), or a bike I could enjoy with my wife riding 2-up to different places near and far (think.... cruiser ).

OR.... If I let them keep it, I'll have enough money for a brand new bike of any kind!! ($10k)!!!!

Yeah, but that's over $4k more than what I'm getting for my bike! Plus, it would not even be the S model.

Man, normally I probably would. It's not much of a difference, relatively speaking. But I gotta be careful now with how I spend my money, with the way this recession is affecting my business. Nobody wants to do anything, and others can't get their construction loans. It sucks. Luckily I have a few jobs goin', but who knows what's next, and how long this drought will last?
