Hmmm.... It has a gasket on the main section, it is solid one piece cast aluminum cover, and the starter gear access cover is sealed with an o-ring. It seems to me that the stator cover would hold oil, but then again, I don't plan to lift the bike 90 to test the theory.

the stator cover is a sealed cover, it has a gasket for a reason. and even the stator cover is filled with oil, it will drain back out into the crankcase. it cannot stay filled with oil when it is upright.

Maybe the sap who dropped the brand new Busa off the lift during prep was testing the stator covers ability to retain oil????
