Ti Welder

Can anyone recommend a good, no wait....make that a super duper, bad @$$, over the top skillz, Titanium capable welder they could recommend?

I have a small crack in my Ti exhaust can on the Bim and I want to get it fixed right, before it gets worse.

Thanks in advance.

Lots of Ti welding requires a welders cabinet that can be filled with argon. Open air welding of Ti may or may not work for your application. You really will need to take it to someone that knows Ti and understands the types of stress that the piece is being subjected to. If this is on the exhaust, chances are that it will crack again in the weld or just to one side of it. Especially when it is hot and subjected to water as in the case of a puddle or something of the likes. Fast temp changes cause havok on Ti.

Thanks, I knew it was a more complicated process, but I don't have a clue about welding, other than wishing I knew more and also wish I knew how. I'll have to add that to the bucket list.

I'll ask the ones I call their thoughts.

That is a good idea. I will do that. I will post pics in a bit, maybe I can send the pics to them and see what they say. Doesn't hurt to ask.

THAT would make my day. We'll see. Considering what the system costs, I think you are right. I will keep everyone posted with their response.

Staton be sure and check your subframe, make sure it isint loose and sagged down putting the exhaust in a bind, seen that before, just grab the rear by brakelight area and pull up and down to see if any looseness, just to make sure it doesent happen again

Gerald Chandler is the owner, and a good friend of mine. He can do it, but I defiantly wait and see what the manufacture says.
