180 ftw. plus, anything has to be better than a worn out tire w/ a plug in it.

well think about it... putting the 180 in the rear will give you a more of a round pattern than a 190 which wont be as round because its wider (duh).
There is no reduction in grip and turn-in and flickability are improved. They're also cheaper

99BlackR1: Is right! All my buddies that stepped up from 180's to 190's said the 180 turned much better. The 190's look meaner but yes, you will be able to turn much faster and harder or a 180 due to the added tread you will be able to roll over on.

technically, wouldn't you be "stretching" the tire???

Think about it. You're trying to put a tire that is 10mm in width less over a surface designed for a tire 10mm wider. (180vs190)
In this stretching process you would actually be flattening the tire to seat the beads.

Close your eyes and imagine it: the top of the tire has to go "down" to compensate for the extra width required of it.

I could be wrong............................................. ..............but I doubt it.

I'm sure there are people that have done it, and granted 10mm is only .254 inches, but Suzuki put a 190 mm width rear tire on that bike for a reason...
