impressions of my new 07 zx10

Gecko Bike LARGE1
LeftSide 1
it is quite a bit more uncomfortable. i doubt i'll be putting on 20k per year, like my busa's.
the low end torque just aint there. maybe b/c its totally stock, and needs a pipe and pc.
i couldn't just gas it into a wheelie like i could my busa's, at around 15-20mph.
maybe after getting more used to it, i'll be standing it up.
it seems like the power takes a bit to hit, almost like a turbo lag.
i bet it'd be a monster with a +2 rear sprocket.
no gas guage.wtf? the top mount steering damper is beautiful.
it does turn EFFORTLESSLY. it has michelin 2ct's. maybe thats whats up with that.
it has an obviously higher center of gravity. feels kinda awkward. i was told the rear was raised, for the track.
any know how tolower it back, pls let me know. i guess i'm used to the busa's stance. that seemed slammed compared to this.
brakes are uber sweet. i didn't get really agressive with them, but they feel much better than my old gen 1's.
the front has braided steel lines. easily the best feeling brakes i've ever been on.
final verdict?
i couldn't have gotten a cleaner, tighter bike for the $.
but i need another busa. even if it's an old fixer upper, for girl cruising duties.

get her up to about 45-60 in first and go to about 3/4 throttle and she'll be on the back wheel until about 95... And it will power it up in 1st, 2nd and 3rd... I can come show you before i leave town

It does lack power below 6grand but she comes to life once you hit that..

I already miss her. Take care of my baby. When the suspension was set up for me by Roger Albert the back end was raised 10mm to help quicken the turn in to accomodate my style of riding.

If the rear shock is like most kawis', there is probably a shim on the top mounting bolt that was added to raise it. Easy enough to remove.

And, no, it definately ain't a Busa!

non running sv650 :(

imo they stopped making the zx10r in 06/07
the new one is finally doing it justice

if it isn't pulling the wheel up off throttle in first, you either need jenny craigs or twist the throttle faster/harder

i know my 05 is old news but it stilll is the bomb

jetfighter looks, hi pipe on the side, just clean, and still wicked fast

neways, sorry for the negativity - i think u need to try riding an 04/05 just for fun to compare

u can get em pretty cheap

Yes the 10r is not a slow wheelie machine. I have problems getting it up at 20mph. Just the other day, a subaru sti was testing/checking/showing his car out, wanted to run me. I kick it to 2nd and gas, bike goes up to 10 oclock. If you want to slow wheelie, buy a honda. If you want a monster wheelie, you got one.

yeah, i did a pretty hard roll on in 1st, front came up pretty fast, at about 60 maybe.
i just need to learn its idiosyncracies.
the clutch cable has a bit of play, maybe 1/8"
is it being stretched and gonna bust on me?
is that normal.
seems like past rides actuate immediately.
not a big deal obviously, but i don't it breaking far from home.
thanks
craig

ps whats the verdict on this exhaust i almost got for $400?
http://www.zx-10r.net/forum/showthread.php?t=76480
prolly shoulda got it, huh?

My '04 was scary fast, but didn't like to turn and the brakes SUCKED!! The new ones, '08-'09 are the best ones yet IMHO. Chassis, brakes finally work right.........and STILL an awesome motor.
And it WILL power it up in 1st-2nd-3rd.

if u drop the underseat exhaust might look alil wierd since the tail has room for it?
i dont know much about the 06/07 but if yer clutch lever feels too loose just screw it alil on the slack o meter thingy - i leave mine with a lil slack on it - im just wierd

the funny thing about the 04/05, really only a small population of the bike folk realize that its just a ridiculously fast bike that is ridiculsously small/light for really really really cheap

i didin't believe ppl that it would power up in 2nd that easily, so i got on the freeway and ya that was a bad idea but high wheelies and me aren't strangers :p

see pic of me in college on my tls
