Not so much worried about the motor in particular as the bike as a whole, what to look for, what needs to be done if it hasn't, weak areas, strong points, etc.

They are kinda children (which is why I think I want one sooo bad).
Harley guys don't like them because they are sports bikes, sport bike guys don't like them because they are Harleys. For me, that is perfect!

Things particular to the S1 and X1 to look out for...

There is one of them to stay away from because it had alot of problems and that why buell had got a bad rep and still has one till this day from some people. I cant quite remember which one it is, i think it was the S1 but i will find out.

Ive had my 00 X1 for alittle over a year and I still love it. The only problem Ive had so far is the exhaust bolt broke, other than that, I get on it, start it and go.

From what I have read everyone selling a X1 says the "recalls" have been done so I would assume that is the one. I know the S1's (and X1's) take
alot of care and feeding compared to a bike but that is not a issue for me.

I really like the idea of riding something that I won't see around every corner...

What year of the X1/ S1 were you lookin at? The only X1's Ive seen with problems were the pre 2k models.

I think S1's are to 98 then the X1 is from there to the aluminum frames.

No year in particular, condition is more important. I have logged over 16K miles on my XJ600 in the last 12 months. I have my son for July which means
suburban or sidecar then next month I am seriously going to be on the prowl for one.

From the lack of responces to this post I guess I'll go pester the guys at the
badweather bikers sight and see what they have to say.

I understand the lack of information on here cause most of the people on this site arent open minded enough to think anything but bikes. Good luck man, hope you find the answers your lookin for.

BTW, that last post wasn't a jab at MH. I was just hoping that there was someone with a knowledge base to tap localy. Talking and poking around a scooter is way more inforative then a few sentences shot back and forth on
a BBS or PM.
