3090???

I don't ride 3090 very often because of the "aura" that goes along with it from past stories Ive read on MH, but i took a ride out there today. Just wondering but has there always been gravel on a lot of the turns? Pretty much every 1000ft I saw signs that said "loose gravel", "fresh oil", etc.
Yes it has a lot of twisties but it seems more like an obstacle course?
Or is that why everyone goes out there?

It's just one of the very few "challenging" roads in our area. :(

It was fine last Sunday, but they seem to be regularly dumping gravel to fill the edges... guess the farmers and their trailers drop off the turns too often and keep it churned up.

Or could just be the locals are tired of all the bikes flying by every weekend and are encouraging us to ride more sedately....

Positive side is fresh oil helps you practice drifting and backing it in...

I have not been out to 3090 in about 2-3 months since I sold my street bike. But when I was riding 3090 just about every weekend there were only some instances when the road wasn't in good shape.

Other than that, the road was usually in good condition. But being it is a public roadway those conditions can change from day to day. Garbage can be in the road, the county could have done road work and leave gravel behind, dead animals...... just about every situation you can run across on any other road.

So if you ride on any public roadway, your going to run across these conditions anyway. 3090 is just a great road to ride. You just can't go out there every day expecting the conditions to be the same as the day before and take it for granted. You just need to be careful when riding it.

3090 is a short and somewhat twisty country road north of Houston. While many people long to ride this road on a weekly basis it is unfortunately within the territory of an infamous gay biker gang, "The Forest Gnomes". You must be very careful when attempting to access 3090 without prior consent of this particular gang otherwise you will find yourself victim to the dreaded "suprise buttsex". Some victims are forced to wear adult diapers permanently after this experience.

Yeah, I made a stop at the cross. Im glad I can now see how much more fun the track is rather than riding backroads. I still like to have spirited rides on backroads, etc but all of the $hit on that road had me laughing and at the same time staying in double digit speeds.....
Did I forget to mention the 2x6 and the half a dog that I dodged

The only time we saw some purposely put gravel down was at the 30 mph rated curve that goes all the way around. I was on the busa knee down and I believe it was P behind me on the SV. We got into it and slowed our exit. But that's part of street riding. I always watch the other lane to stop and clear things for our way back from Yankees.

I was down 3090 on Wednesday. The first half has several sections of newly graveled & oiled sections. It's too slippery for any spirited riding. The second half seemed fine.
