PGR for HPD Officer Henry Canales: Monday, June 29, 0745Hrs

MISSION
Sr Officer Henry Canales
Houston Police Department
June 29, 0745 hrs

Houston Police Senior Officer Henry Canales was killed in the line of duty protecting us.

Officer Henry Canales was a dedicated family man as well as a dedicated officer. He is survived by a wife and two children. Canales was with the auto theft division of the Houston Police Department for the past seven years. He was also very active in drag racing and raced with an organization called 'Beat the Heat,' which tried to stop street racing. Fellow officers described him as a hero to his family and to the people of Houston, who he served proudly for 16 years. "He loved his job. He loved what he did, And he was very good at it."

Funeral is at Grace Community Church on the Gulf Frwy and starts at 9:30am.

We will setup a flag line before the funeral begins and stand down after service starts. Then re-stand the flag line at the end of the funeral. We will stay in the flag line till the end of the procession leaves the parking lot.

We will not be going to the Cemetery.

The Family and Police Department have some conditions for the PGR attendance:

Flag line at the funeral service will not be at the door or againts the building. This will allow some free space between us and the building where the Police will be. (we are in the background)
No PGR attendance at the internment (it will be family only)
There will be no "Ride" other than from our staging to the funeral.
Bike attire is expected but the following is NOT allowed
for men and women: no tank tops, muscle shirts, tub tops, mid drifts (must have sleeves)
for men and women: shoes are required, no flip flops
No cleavage, this is family event, if you can't keep um covered then wear a jacket
No mini skirts
There will be absolutely NO presentation (no plaque or challenge coin to the family)
NO PGR should be trying to meet with the family or Police brass.
One of our motto's is stand tall and silent. On monday all Ride Captains will set the example, so please follow there lead.

It will be HOT HOT, please bring what ever you need to protect yourself from the affects of the heat.

STAGING LOCATION:
PGR Staging: Dixie Square Complex, 15327 Gulf Frwy, Houston, Tx, 77034

It is also greatly appreciated by the officers. Having members of the community you serve stand behind you is one of a feeling.

Good to hear!

I won't be riding, since my bike is KIA, but I will cage it and look forward to meeting you guys.

Anyone else?

We who own motorcycles know fully well how vulnerable our bikes are to scumbag thieves. We oughto to show our respect and gratitude for what Canales did. He may not have recovered all of our bikes, but at least he sought out the scumbags that stole them. And from what I've heard, he was very good at it. This is a big loss to the community.

This man's character was represented today by the sheer numbers of people that showed up today...I saw hundreds....

They played these two songs....they played others, yet I remembered these the most..

I have been to way too many of these through the years....this one was moving!!!
