Don't think I have met Ricky, but I think Princess may have introduced me to Amanda.........either way, prayers for a quick recovery for both of you.

Texas drivers suck so bad, it aint even safe to tow a motorcycle, let alone ride one

He was driving some kind of Honda (or similar smaller car).

I got an update yesterday. Basically, the 17yr old kid ran the stop sign... Ricky swerved and the trailer somehow forced the truck to rollover (3 or 4 times). Ricky and Amanda were both thrown from the vehicle. I don't know that the impact of the car caused the truck to flip it was more than likely the weight of the trailer getting out of whack. I don't know how long Ricky's trailer is, but it's big and with all his gear and 8 bikes or so that were in it, I am sure it was very heavy. My guess is that the trailer came around after he swerved... can't imagine how scary that must have been!

Anyway, I was not there and have only had one conversation second hand but there were concerns that rumors were being spread. To be very clear Ricky was NOT DRINKING, and this terrible accident happened around 7:30pm not 1-2am.

I am not one of Ricky's best friends, nor have I known him or his family for years, I am just a guy that's met him at the track a couple of times. His big heart, willingness to give advise and help you out, and that Louisiana twang grew on me, oh yeah and that boudin he makes (wow that stuff's good)! Like any of you that I have ridden with we are all part of an extended family and we take care of our own! Please be respectful of your fellow family members and their families!

The only thing now is to see how he recovers from surgery. But it is looking very positive so far.

Thank you to all his bike friends for the prayers and concern. Please continue to pray for Ricky and his family. We have a 10 yr old son and it is very hard on all of us right now.

I'll try to keep updating his myspace with posts as we know more.

Got back from the hospital again last night. All surgeries have been performed and Ricky has a plate for the vertebrae, hard cast on left wrist/hand and they have him in a neck brace to keep him stable.

He was only able to respond to me by shaking his head because they have a breathing aparatus on him but it looks like for now the hard part is over.

Amanda is in her own room recovering but they have not allowed her to walk yet but maybe today.

Please keep them in your prayers for a fast and speedy recovery. Ricky has a long way to go.

But, his name is Ricky and he is from LA and he has a strong cajun accent, though...

What a coincidence. This Ricky rode a Kawi ZX6r...

Best wishes for Ricky and Amanda...they are two awesome people to hang out with if you ever get the chance...both on and off the track.

Ricky is always the loudest guy around and the life of the party, truly a great personality. He's also the guy who rode the Y2K bike at TWS (Texas World Speedway) a few weeks ago....like 200 mph, shattered the rear brake rotor and popped the carbon fiber rim...kept the bike up and everything, ya he's a bad ...now a 17 yr old does this to two people I care about WTF

be careful out there people, and again...get well soon you two I wanna come hang out again sometime.
