I remember when those came out. They were top of the line back then and nice looking bikes.
Kawasaki introduced them in 1977 with the slogan: "Right out of the box they will beat any 750 made.".
Except that right after that in 1977 Suzuki introduced their first in-line four cylinder four stroke bike - the GS-750.
And it would eat a KZ-650 for lunch anytime, anywhere.
And I had one of the first ones in Des Moines, Ia.
I enjoyed lunch time.
