Fallen Riders Fundraiser Sunday 6/28 10am-6pm

Surely you have all heard, but in case some still did not know, on 6/13/09 at around 8:15am Eric Kaufman and his wife Rose Torres died in a motorcycle accident.

They died at 117200 Lime Creek Rd., in Leander Texas. Their bike went off the road and they struck some boulders about 10 yards off the road and we are told they died instantly and did not suffer. The group road up the road at a slower pace. They stoped 3 times to make sure they all stayed together. On the way back everyone was comfortable meeting half way so that everyone could enjoy and ride their own ride. Eric and Rose were third, when the forth rider showed up without seeing them a search party was sent out. A rider that was them them that day "What those of us in the group that were behind Eric and Rose deal with is the fact that we did exactly as trained and looked into the turn, which spared most of us from seeing what happened outside of it. That fact weighs on us because they laid there helpless while we made our way. If I could trade places with them, I would. But I can't and so we go on in honor of the lives lost."

For those of you that did not know, Eric and Rose leave behind Johnny, 3, and Gina, 1, as well as her parents and younger sister and of course extended family as well. Rose's immediately family lives here in Cypress Texas.

The West Alabama Icehouse has graciously offered their establishment pretty much free rein to do what we can to raise money for the Eric and Rosse fund - proceeds to go directly to their families. The WAIH is a very biker friendly outdoors icehouse with plenty of shade, picnic tables, very kid and dog friendly too. So bring the rugrats and dogs too - plenty of safe places for them to run around!! This place is almost like a second home to me (no I'm not a total drunk!) and I have known the owner, Pete for years. Very friendly atmosphere, a bike only parking section, and a place that welcomes folks from all walks of life. Construction workers, land developers, artists, tattooists, pet groomers, doctors, and politicians, even a few shady lawyers

We've also discussed the possibility of doing a BIKINI BIKE WASH while we are there. It's possible I've seen groups do them here many times. We just need to sign up . And fellas - this is the MONTROSE - so grab your wife or g/f's bikini top, put it on and wash a bike like a real man - with a bikini top! Come on!

OH BUT WAIT - there's more.......A Silent Auction will be going on with donations provided by some great people - examples - tattoo time/ motorcycle gear........anyone have any other connections for some stuff to auction? Do you have a special skill you could give - yard work, house work, make a great cake, babysit, dogsit, massuese anyone?

How would you feel about hosting a poker tournament to raise money for the family?
I was working with MD Anderson to host an event but they cannot support this event to the the "Poker" theme.
If you're interested, please let me know and I'd love to help out.
