I am not a cop so saying they are pigs is not right. Not all cops are heads. alot are but that is the same as saying one rider who is a ****nut makes all of us the same?

Anyways.... good job on your buddies bike, you really shoulda tried to get a plate number. Shooting them woulda got you in major trouble good you didnt. a, not your property so you cant shoot them, specially if they are already on the st. B not a life threatening issue. Yeah your buddy would be happy with his bike but my guess is you would be spending 2-5 in the not so hapy home, unless you killed one then you might have 5-10.... Awesome you saved his ride. more awesome you didnt kill the bastards... (even though they are better off dead IMHO)
Buddy owes you a beer, dinner, and a to boot... *preferably from a female friend) Not ness in that order I might add

You did good. My neighbors praise me from time to time... I've stopped some young wanna be thugs, trying to steal rims off my neighbors truck, with my sks (one cried).... and I've walked out, in my front yard with my pistol grip 12g numerous times, scaring other teenage bastards from stealing mine and my neighbors Honda's. Pumping a couple bullets/shells in the ground usally gets them jumping and some times they even stop in their tracks.

I would have shot their tires, like in the movies, then made them do sexual favors for "dumbass"'s dog.

Someone who knows clarify this for me:

A. I had heard a while back that they were making it legal to have a pistol in your car (NOT on your person) even if you don't have a CHL. True?

B. If the above is true, wouldn't the same thing apply to a pistol in a tank/tail/saddle bag?

Thanks.

P.S. Awesome job, man. Glad you were able to stick up for what's right. Shame they got away though. Hope they get what's coming.

while it would be fun, i think he did the right think not discharging. would have likely ended up with him in some trouble rather than him just going home and returning his buddies bike.

and as far as #2, it b/c your car is considered an extension of your home. Again to win that battle will require court fees & such. so its still cheaper to get your CHL. If for some reason you're not allowed to have your CHL, those laws won't help you anyway b/c you're still "tainted" by past transgressions.

Yeah, I fully intend/intended too, but when I was still in college back in October 06 I was dumb enough to get a DWI Still paying for my mistakes. Still have about a year's worth of paying for my driver's license and another 2 after that before I'm even allowed to consider a CHL.

And that's another thing too. I hate that part of the legal system. You shouldn't have to pay to defend your innocence. If a DA wants to prosecute, and you're found innocent, the state or DA should pick up all the expenses.

like everybody is saying just get you chl.......that would save you alot of heart ache and money. plus if your not eligible to apply for a license, your not even supposed to own a gun. I would rather take my chances not having a gun, then get caught with one illegally.

After talking to several leos who know i don't have my CHL but know its always in my truck i asked them about on the bike if i carried it in my back pack and they said as long as you cant access it while riding and the cop isn't a complete douche bag about it it shouldn't be an issue. That being said don't carry without a CHL the risk ain't worth it. Only time put it in my backpack is late nights or early mornings, and first thing i do when I stop is open my backpack so i can access it if necessary.

so a DUI/DWI bars you from getting a CHL for life, or is there some sort of probationary period? you can still buy/own tho right?

I haven't looked into it yet, but I'm pretty sure that you're still allowed to own a gun, but you're not allowed to get your CHL. Not really sure on that though.

DWI and any other Class B misdemeanor I think it is will cause you to lose your CHL if you have one and won't let you get one for 5 years.
