Both good tires, both have been rated neck in neck in multiple tests.
The BT014 is less expensive, if you're racing, the BT002's and the Powers have the exact same profile of their street counterparts so it's an easy transition. The 002's are also less expensive than the Power Race.
I've used both with great results, but I like the feedback of the Bridgestones over the Powers.
I truly don't believe there is a "dominant tire" right now, they are all excellent tires. Go with the brand that suits your riding style best.

If you plan on running alot at MSRH go with the Michelins for sure. That track LOVES Michelins!!! Won't tell you how many laps I get from a PR5 rear, but it borders on obscene........ I'm still running a softer PR4 that I raced on at the Hill and have four solid days at the ranch on them too, turned a new best lap on them yesterday, so there is still a bit left in them. If you go with the race tires, warmers help keep the heat cycles down, thus much longer life. My .02

James,
Which track are you looking at running most this year? If you are talking about TWS (Texas World Speedway) I would ditch the street tire scene. I have riden the Powers and they were awesome at Cresson but the BT002 kicked at TWS (Texas World Speedway). Oh, and Dunlops almost put me on my the first time out at TWS (Texas World Speedway). T2 seems to have a liking for me.

yeah, you could call it thrifty.. just thought it would sound good..

prolly TWS (Texas World Speedway) and MSRH for sure.. everything else is too far to drive for a weekday for me. I'll try the powers and see how i like them.., i have no complaints with the 014's at all..

Then try the BT002's, at $292.00 a set they're a lot less expensive than the Powers, and last just as long.

Patrick
how long will they last if they are used for street and track? i plan 5 track days with about 1.5k miles street wear.

will having tire warmers help them last longer for both street and track?
do you think someone like me who can run in the low 2:00's at TWS (Texas World Speedway) can be alright with some take offs?

but how many crash on race tires??

i dont think we can completely blame the tires. (generally speaking of course)

look at Duhamel this past weekend, if he had better tires would he not have crashed? It's just a combo of things.. I just want to try them out, w/o warmers i'm not sure if i really want the 002's
