WSBK: WSS: Buckmaster: I hope Sofuoglu watched MotoGP!

Quote:
Parkalgar Honda manager Simon Buckmaster says Kenan Sofuoglu's decisive last lap pass on Eugene Laverty at Miller Motorsports Park has 'laid down a new marker for what is acceptable' before adding that he now shouldn't 'cry' if a hard pass is placed on him.

Speaking ahead of the latest World Supersport round at Misano, Buckmaster is referring to Sofuoglu's move on long time leader Laverty just a few corners from the finish line in the USA, the pair making contact before the Turk moved ahead for a second win of the season.

While Sofuoglu himself admitted the move could have been considered 'hard', Buckmaster criticises the Ten Kate Honda rider for changing what is considered to be a 'acceptable' in a last lap exchange.

Making further reference to the stunning final lap during the Catalunya MotoGP event, Buckmaster says he hopes Sofuoglu watched that race to see how a 'fair' final lap pass is done.

“It's going to be another good race to start the second half of the season. There are three people in the title fight but for me the winner will be either Cal or Eugene. I hope Kenan Sofuoglu watched last weekend's Catalunya MotoGP to see exactly how a fair last lap pass should be done courtesy of Valentino Rossi.

“Anyway, after what Kenan did to Eugene at the last round he has now laid down a new marker for what is acceptable and I hope he doesn't cry again if someone puts a hard pass on him...”
