Our new racebike

After seeing the Ninja 250's running mini-endurace at Oak Hill this weekend we were hooked. Sitting in the garage is our nearly perfect 2008 donor bike. 2900 miles, one owner, clean clean, just dropped once. Now off to the vendors and ebay for tires, bodywork, pipe, shock, clip ons. Sending off headlights, fairings, rearsets, and a bucket of heavy parts to Ebay afterlife. Woo hoo!!! For anyone not up on the action, consider Rentmyninja.com had 6 bikes at the event, and there were a bunch of others from CMRA. What a great class, evenly matched, where skill counts as much as budget.

Here is a video of my buddy Jon Broom in Sprints on Sunday. I don't know if you have to be on facebook to view it:

Pretty sweet stuff, even if he wasn't the fastest 250 out there.

We picked this one up for $2500. Saw it on ebay, made an offer, and when I picked it up it had been bid up to more than we paid, so I think we got a good deal. Previous owner said he paid $3500 OTD in Oklahoma last year, then had to pay Texas taxes.

The bike is technically Jeremy's, so he decides on the team, which is Kris and I for now. All for fun, no championship chasing. I think Kris is going to use it to instruct at MSRH TTD on the 27th, if we can get stock links to replace the rear lowering links....time for another thread I guess.

My guess is it will see a LOT of trackdays and maybe 3/4 of a CMRA schedule. We don't like to leave Texas to race...too much driving.
