Venue? No. RA is still on the schedule. SS has been dropped in favor of something else that looks a little like SS.

so whats the rules on bikes in this new class .. 600 1000
the superstock (formely known as formula extreme) was replaced with "AMA daytona sportbike" which is made up of 600's with the exception of the buell 1125 and aprilia 1000.

then there's AMA superbike which is made up of 1000's where they are allowed to do more modifications but still limited.

there is also the AMA supersport class which is a 600 class made up of younger riders....they are limited to modifications and have an age cap as well.

Actually the bikes are more "Stock" in Supersport, which is a feeder class for young riders. The bikes in Daytona Sportbike are allowed a few more mods, but not near as many as they used to run. Either way, FIM World Supersport is much better racing and IMHO AMA doesn't warrant my attention.

this class was around for several years and they raced 1000's

so i think you guys are getting confused .
You're right, there WAS a Super Stock class, but unfortunately if you think they didn't touch "anything but pipe and PC3" you'd be sorely mistaken.

The AMA in Edmunson's infinite wisdom, completely restructured the classes and added a pace car so that it more closely resembles something the "traditional" racing fans can recognize. Now, we have NASBIKE.

That was at the end of the season when DMG had already taken over... which is who runs things now.
