Jody and Mike,

Would you guys consider "teaching" a motard school? I'm thinking if we could get enough of the motard riders together, it would be worth while and the money to pick your brains.

Jason I would be more than willing to help anyone out and try and help this sport grow in our area. I am like Jody I will do it for free if we can get a track day together, or even go to a big parking lot set up our own track and we can help teach the basics.

I like that answer but I think it might be a little easier said than done.

I agree, the times I have ridden that track on a supersport, it does seem like it would be suited for motards. I am going to try and make the LSTD up there coming up in July, and test out the new bike.

If there were more of the motard/mini specific races, or even a set series to run along with the CMRA races, I would be very interested in racing. I have only been a trackday guy, never raced, but it is very tempting to try it out on the motard.

I would imagine that the turnout has not been that great in the past. Considering there aren't nearly as many motards as sportbikes, and not everyone can make all the events.

Maybe if we could get something up and running for some motard only trackdays, or even a motard racing series it might push some people on the fence about motards over to the dark side. The Oak Hill event was actually what made my mind up to covert my bike and give it a try. Unfortunately I couldn't get things put together in time for the weekend, but I will be ready for the next one.

Something even as simple as an organized group of motards to go out and run practice days at oak hill might help jump start the motard/supermoto scene down here. It would be great to have a supermoto track closer also, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. Maybe if a motard series could get off the ground, though.
