Price Haggling Tips

Trying to buy a 2009 Gladius for my wife. Drove around town today with cash in hand, but no one would deal. Got two dealers down to 7500 out the door (MSRP is 6899), but I was hoping for more like 7000. They have been going for 6300 or so plus fees on E-bay, but there aren't any nearby right now. Other than being patient, any tips?

poor a bunch of motor oil down the exaust, ride till it starts smoking then tell the dealer the engine is blown and you will need to lower price accordingly.*

you are trying to deal on a brand new model that is selling well so you can't really - they can sell all they have at their price.

I tried flashing the cash, walking out the door, and calling ahead.

As for the whole new model deal, they don't seem to be selling that well. Every dealer in town has at least one, with another few still in crates. They have been at dealers since early April. AJ Foyt told me they had only sold one in that time frame.

Because the first price they offered to me today was 9371 out the door. I may not get the bike for for 7000, but I've only spent 4 hours on a day I had nothing better to do trying to get there. I'll happily take that option over 9371. Again, thanks for the tip. Maybe you can write a book in your spare time.

Dustin I realize that you sell for a living and want to make your commissions. The rest of us, mostly, also work for our money and want to get the best deal that we can. There should be a place to meet in the middle.

By the way, do you buy new stuff? I've seen the bikes and the Jeep. I doubt anyone made a commission when you purchased them.

$500 saved on the price of the bike will be a WHOLE LOTTA GAS MONEY to burn up.
