With the ignition off press and hold "select" and turn on key while holding button for an additional 2 seconds, it will go to program mode. First is mode 3 choices "light" blink" and "no light" use adj button to change. Then select button for second settings "brightness" then select again for RPM them use adj button to select your shift preference.

should be like a power button under the tachometer hold it for like 3 seconds with bike off then well holding it turn the bike on. Buddy had same problem i think he had to do that every time he started the bike.

No problem. I have mine set but I can rarely see it. I have to shift by sound. There is too much going on to look that far down.

I've never seen mine come on. I'll say its because I don't look down, but its also probably because I haven't revved it real high.
