Those articles are located in the Texas Law books.
Contact Andy my neighbor and his wife who is a lawyer could probably tell you exactly what they say.

does he have a dba or business name that you know of ?

dba's are tougher to get all the dirt on but still do-able..

LLP, LLC, Inc. all easy to get info on.

FYI, the BBB really cant do anything other than give bad credibility. my dad has to pay to be part of the BBB. he always gets calls asking to join for a fee plus membership costs.

if he screwed you over real bad go to small claims court. did he give you a estimate/bid with specifications or was it verbal?

i see this frequently but most of the time its just another lesson learned.

not really screwed out of the deal per se` but, he did screw me around for two weeks, had i not been as persistent as i was he would have taken the money without doing the job. This evening I met a former co-worker of his in the same business, nothing but bad news from this man. I had my secretary at work call him and say she was an attorney and gave him alittle bit of , told him some of the facts and he was lying and hanging up on her. We told him that we were taking him to court for a refund of 50% of the payment made to him. I dont care about the money.I have plenty, it's the priciple of the matter. This man should not be in business with his attitude and work ethics.

as far as the lesson learned. Well, the job is done good enough for me, and I can finish up on my own in about a day so I dont see it as a lesson learned. I just have learn to trust my instincts when it comes to that kind of money and a certain kind of person.

lessons learned as in getting people to work for you who come from refrences and doing research before hand. alot of people look for the cheapest and expect good work (not you specificaly).

i dont know what happened so i really cant judge your decisions or motive,
