I got mine from sportbiketrackgear, but i know cyclesector carries the white one for sure.

You saw my black one on the sunday forest ride when we met at Starbucks and crzy88 has the red version. Awesomely comfortable jacket and great quality. I wear a size 40 which you're welcome to try on if you like.

Glad you made it out ok. Parts seem pretty cheap on the FZ-6 vs most bikes. I'm shocked at the jacket though, I've always heard the Dianese stuff was expensive because it was excellent quality, doesn't look like it here.

Not sure I would buy the same jacket after seeing what happened to yours.

Glad to see you are in good spirits and the bike was rideable! Nice crashing!

Yeah, I pretty much made up my mind on mine. Gonna return it after seeing what happened to Joe's jacket.

I would definitely file a warranty claim with Dainese. We are paying premium prices so we should expect premium quality, it would appear derived from a manufacturing flaw.

But what's up with the Dianese? I wouldn't have expect that to rip at the seams?! Maybe I oughto return mine, since I haven't removed the tags yet.

I suspect his is a Dainese knock-off. I own many Dainese jackets and all of them have button cuffs, not velcro, and all of them has a flap that covers the zipper when pulled up to the collar, again his doesn't.

I would almost think so, since I would never had expected this from a Dainese jacket. Icon? Yes. But not Dainese.

Joe and I both got the jacket at Cycle Gear; however it is Dainese's lowest priced jacket, which would account for cost cuts in production, and apparently it's affected quality as well. I'm definitely gonna return mine.

I guess Cycle Gear has started selling knock offs then because that is where I purchased the jacket. The tear is clean cut like it got caught on my bike as I low sided it and when the bike went from street to grass/ditch, I went over the front of it. It isn't ragged. I'm going to contact Dianese about it.

Cycle gear does. That's why their suits are alot cheaper then elsewhere; its not wholesale, is material thickness/sewing tolerances.

The same way Walmart has authority to wholesale/sell packaged items w the same product names w smaller motors/etc to lower prices.... or coat factories w discounted coats because the tolerances were not within specifications or a product line was declined; you get the same label but its not recognized as the original product.

Dealers or shops that order directly.

Im not sure about the dainese brand but other name brands sold at that location are not high quality.

I think CG has a deal with Frank Thomas products. I don't think Dainese would work that type of a deal with them, which is why I'm so surprised by this.

Now if Joe's jacket did in fact hit a sharp object that caught the jacket and thereby ripped it cleanly, then that's another story. So maybe it's not so much the jacket, as it was the nature of the accident.

Where exactly did it tear? along a seem or perfurated leather?

The problem w any perforated leather: 1)usually not a 1.2, 2)it loses strength since it is infact cut. If it tore along a seem, that's regular since the stitching provides a hard mount and wont give, but the perforated leather will.

Same concept as fiberglass/plastic repair. The rigid repair creates a weak point.

It tore across the perforated leather (chest) AND the inner arm seam- all the way to the elbow. The actual seam came out- threads gave.

Sharp object or not, if the sewing gave then its quality issue.

Needs to be reported if not replaced/discount given from dainese.

Laptop, Vented Dianese jacket for sale - slightly dented in lowside **PICS**

Hilarious pic.

I've never known anyone that had a get-off like that and still be able to pose/smile next to their bike. Glad you're ok.
