GSXR Race Engine stolen, please read.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to do this, but due to a lack of initiative I felt I was about out of options. George from the Cycle Gear on 45 South took my motor in front of several witnesses and admitted it to me over a week ago. I have spoken to him several times, and he seems to be giving me the run around. Supposedly the motor is at somebodies house in Katy that he doesn't know and can't get in touch with, and I even offered to go get it myself. I spoke with my father who is an attorney, and it seems my next step is to press felony theft charges if my motor isn't returned, or replaced with cash. Does anyone know this guy that can help me out? I have ALOT of money and time invested in this race motor. Thanks in advance.

Was he supposed to be doing any work on the motor that y'all had discussed, or did he just jack it?

If y'all discussed work being performed, I would say give it a little time to hash out. Then go civil.

If there was no discussion of work or any other legitimate reason for him to have possession of the motor, then call the po.

Man, it sucks, but I would say call the cops and file charges. It might be some jacked up misunderstanding, but letting it go longer will only make it a harder case to prove to the cops and D.A.

Good Luck, dude.

Get prepared to call the police and report it. Call George first, let him know calling the police is your next move. Give him a chance to give you back the motor. If it's a no-go, report it immediately.

All your doing is hoping/waiting for the impossible...

I gave a guy on this forum the benifit of a doubt that he would pay me the money he stole from me... and every chance I gave him was another waisted day.

The lack of details breeds deception. Both this guy's motor and George's were in sunny's shop when I and someone else went to pick it up. They were right next to each other and pretty much looked the same to me, so we didn't pay much attention to it. I don't know about George not helping the guy out, can't speak for his actions, but hopefully everything works out in the end.

show him you dont **** around. take it to the cops. if they cant handle it. get some hooded pipe hittin goons.

caution ..people that openly admit to taking something, and dont give a , usually got something behind em to help out. be wary.

looking for a trackbike!!

I wouldnt even mess with him. Try your hardest to find out where its located. Then, make sure all of the witnesses are willing to give a statement, etc. Use a locator service to find all of the info you can about the guy (address, parents, etc). Then call the police and explain to them. Its not a simple theft case because of the price of the engine. He will be facing alot of time. I dont know the exact price cutoff but I do know it is atleast a second degree felony, possibly first.
