That is correct. The cut the ends off the barriers going in and out so that bikes could go around them.

Thx! Hmm I don't recall ever seeing a red R1 though. Who do you work for? I'm usually parked in our Smith bldg because the garage at the Jefferson bldg fills up quick.

I park my bike at the Rusk Garage [ corner of San Jacinto & Rusk ] , we leave our bike next to the guard shack [ guard there all day ] not sure if it has visitor parking though.

I'm at the KBR Tower (601 Jefferson, not 501). I can't keep the garage names straight. The one I park in has the motorcycle crossing sign, pretty sure it is the Smith one. Haven't had any problems with finding a spot, but I get here around 7.

Is this free parking? I use to park at Walker @ Main garage. Stopped riding my bike for a couple of months because I got a nail in it and took me a while to get new tires. Now I am back on the bike and I get to work this morning and my garage stopped allowing bikes to park there for free

You can also find parking garages that have a gate with enough room to ride around the gate.

Disreguard the no motorcycles sign...

How do you park here for free? Isn't there a gate? Or are you an employee? I'm planning to visit downtown on Monday, so hopefully you'll see this soon.
Thanks.

If you look at the automated parking gates they have a sign that says "NO MOTORCYCLES" since the arm can come down and break your neck. Point that out to the garage attendants and they usually point you to a place to park for free in front of their booth/office or they will let you park in the . I always park at the Hilton America's garage. As soon as you come in hang a left and all the bikes are right there. Some places will tell you to just park right in front where the valets take cars.

The guys that work in the Alley Theater garage told me I could just ride around the gate and park in the striped area right by the guard tower. Said that's where bikes liked to park because there was a camera on the area.

I have a parking pass for the gate but I suppose it's good to know I can just go around if I need to.

I guess I should add though, I do have contract parking with that garage, and they have my plate on file. No idea how strictly they patrol that area. I do see scooters and other bikes parked in the spaces too small for cars throughout the garage, no idea if they're all legit though. If you park there, YOU DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK.
